How can I fix the scratches on my prescription eye glasses?

I finally found my glasses under my uncle's recliner unfortunatly they left some moderately deep scratches in them. Is there any home tricks, I can use to fix them?

There are quite a number of YouTube videos around but I have only been moderately successful because you have to scuff the surface until the scratches are gone and then buff back to a full shine, same as any other surface, be it automotive panel, surfboard repair, but the problem I found is although scratches have gone, the surface is not as shiny.
That is the final part, but people do get the total gloss back to the mirror shine. I was trying for hours.
Dont know what fairy liquid is but I used autocut & polish first to get rid of scratches an then auto polish for final buff.
And by all means, be a skinge because optometrists are rogues. They sell frames worth as little as $10 for over $200. Skinge away!!!!

try some fairy liquid, the tinyest amount and some news paper, one youve rubbed them down quite roughly, dont be scared, just be careful u dont bend frame, then clean them off with your normal cloth that you would normally wipe them with. if you see a small improvement, do it again and again.
