help with IBM ThinkPad (T40)?

My ThinkPad keeps stalling, You can turn it on and it works fine then for some reason it just locks up!
If you turn it off with the power button then hit it just next to the mouse pad and turn it back on then its fine again.
Ive restarted the thing compleatly but it still does it.
Any ideas?

sorry need to edit that last post.
Go to you tube and type in "IBM T41p re-flow GPU repair".
I have carried out this proceedure sucessfully myself but I used a laser thermometer and followed the instructions as laid out in the following post which I recommend:

Good luck and dont do it if its still in warranty!! :-)
