I am getting spots on my clothes from the washer, why?

I have a new Maytag Neptune washing machine. My clothes are coming out with spots all over them. Like oil spots, some dark some kinda washed out. Happens on lite colored clothes. I don't even put them in the dryer thinking it might be the dryer. I use Tide, no fabric softner. It has ruined several pieces of clothing. I have called Maytag and they said to call service place inmy home town of Colivlle Wa. They said they have never heard of it, call maytag. We are getting the run around. Can you help as no one else seems to be able too. I have had the water tested and it is not in the water...thanks Tasha McCrite please respond to this letter at rowdygirljm@hotmail.com

I am having the same problem. I have had my Maytag Neptune washer almost 5 years and now I wish I never bought the front load. I know the spots are from the washer because I too didn't dry my clothes to see and they still came out with spots.
Did you ever try cleaning out your washer with vinager? If you did how much vinager do you use?

ARE YOU USING HIGH EFFICIENCEY (HE) DETERGENT? YOU MUST USE IT IN THE NEW FRONT LOAD WASHERS. I LEARNED THIS THE HARD WAY, THE SAME AS YOU. I HAVE A KENMORE FRONT LOAD THAT ACCUMILATED UNDISOLVED DETERGENT. THIS OVER TIME LEFT BEHIND A OIL/GREASE LIKE SUBSTANCE. IT GETS SO HEAVY THAT IT FALLS OFF AND DEPOSITS ON THE CLOTHES.
I HAD TO DISSASSEMBLE THE WASHER AND CLEAN THE OOZE OUT. IT WAS RECOMMENDED TO USE LESS DETERGENT (HE). USE VINEGAR TO HELP WASH AWAY, AND HOT WATER CYCLES TO MELT IT.

GOOD LUCK!!!!
