The drivers door lock mechanism on my renault 1.4 n will lock from the outside with the key but will not unlock the door form the outside the car. The lock can be opened from inside but not from the outside. The car is an S reg (1998) Renault Megane 1.4 n it has only just developed the fault.

Hi i just bought a used Megane 1.4 rn (1997) wguch had this fault and the garage promised to have this problem fixed before pick up and i now find i am stuck with this same fault. Back to the garage!

Hi Mike,

I have just had the same experience with Megan (2000) the dealers have just cost me £117.00 for investigation with no real answers. The mechanic was unable to explain in any detail of the problem except that the "UCH" was faulty. Have you had any success?
