How can I fix my washing machine, Hoover, CA230?

The unit seems to be working fine but all of a sudden it does not perform any form of spin cycle.

Unit does not seem to be unbalanced!

open the rear of the machine when its switched off and look for a black rubber hose at the bottom of the drum. the hose should have a sort of bulged area in it (this is to trap objects like a u bend in a sink) what normally happens is a wire from a underwire bra works its way through and gets stuck in the pump. remove the black pipe (remember that if it is not spinning it probebly wont be draining so you might need a bucket) and see if there is any thing stopping the pump from working the pump is the small impela that the black pipe is connected to. ensure the pump impella is free to turn and replace the pipe. set the machine to a spin cycle and pour in about 2 liters of water into the drum (if there is no water present the machine will not spin as it has a sensor) then turn on the machine. if this does not work i'm sorry.
