my computer seems to be slow now.my freind came round and cleared everything on it because we were having problems with it.it was alwright for a while but now it is really slow when on the internet

Many people purchase p.c's with the operating system preloaded and may or may not have a reload disk.
A reload disk will work by putting everything back to as if it was switched on for the first time but if it is reformatted I think this disk would become useless and customer would then have to purchase a windows disk of the chosen operating system.

i agree with your answer upto the format bit.
format is a last resort. do a virus scan, - do a spam - adaware scan,
clean ( fix registry ) do a junk file scan - and defragment your hard drive.
Its so easy for ppl to turn around and say "Format"

Hope you have a firewall and up to date virus checker otherwise you may be re infected. its also very difficult to clean machines completely , something may have been left behind and is resufacing. try a format and a complete fresh install and then sort out the firewall and avg
