After the first TWO attempts, the waiting time lasts approx 10 seconds. After this, it is increased to 10 minutes. With each further unsuccessful attempt, the waiting time is doubled, reaching 640 minutes by the 9th attempt. During the waiting time, the radio MUST remain switched on.

Switch on ignition
switch off the set
Press AS control, and with it pressed, switch on the set
Keep AS control pressed until you hear a confirmation beep
The display shows "CODE" and then "10 ----" after 3 seconds. The number is the remaining attempts you have.
Enter the code number with preset controls 1,2,3,4.
If you enter a wrong code number overwrite the whole number
E.G. if the code is 0365 :
press button 1 once 0 - - -
press button 2 four times 0 3 - -
press button 3 seven times 0 3 6 -
press button 4 six times 0 3 6 5

Confirm code number with AS control:
Hold control pressed for approx 3 seconds until you hear a confirmation beep.

Not sure if you have mis-typed the cd player number, but i have a vauxhall radio book and the only players i can see that are similar to what you say is a CDR 600 is the CCR 600 or the CDR 500. The CCR 600 is a tape player ( but you may have a cd multi changer) and the CDR 500 is a cd player. Either way, to enter the codes is the same. (unless you do have a cd changer then it would read "CD-SAFE" !)

Hope you find this useful and it works for you. If not, Vauxhall will re-code it for you but it may cost around £20 - £30 !
