Miele dishwasher g646 sc plus - when drying fan makes a high pitched noise ?

How can I stop the noise, I have taken the silver inside panel and removed the tube and cleaned it, as advised by others - thought this may have resolved the problem but noise is still there but not as bad as it was. Do I need to have the fan looked at - struggled to remove it, can anyone advise? This is a Miele dishwasher G646 sc plus.

Miele G894 Dishwasher fan makes noise during heat drying? How to fix this problem (service call?)

I fixed the problem by using Cillit Bang Limescale & Shine. Open the door fully. Put a bowl on the floor under the grille. Squirt plenty of Cillit Bang into the fan and leave for a few minutes. It'll drip through into the bowl. Flush through with warm, not boiling, water. Noise disappeared.

Unscrew the front panel, control panel and on the top left you'll see a black fan control unit (directly behind the vent on the inside of the door). There are two electrical connectors which you should detach (note which goes where - top right, bottom left). Detach the black feeder tube from the bottom and clean out. Then turn the black control unit anti-clockwise and it should detach from the inside vent. You'll probably see loads of crud/dirt/food around the join. This is a two part fan panel, unscrew and take apart. clean all the crud/dirt from around the black/white vent which sits in front of the actual fan. Reassemble and this should do the trick.

This is a common fault with Miele Dishwashers, it has happend to mine twice in the space of 2 years. The problem is that the air intake is at the front bottom right of the dishwasher and it sucks small pieces of rubbish into it. In my opinion THIS IS A DESIGN FAULT. The air intake is to big, so rubbish is sucked up. You would think Miele would fit some kind of filter over the hole or use mesh.

I too had the same problem, the blockage seemed to be inside the fan unit where the tube comes out. I used a small wooden skewer to unblock this and tested it by pouring water into the fan to make sure it drained properly before reassembly. A happy Meile customer
