my rover 400 2.o litre tdi wont start it had new batt and new starter motor?

can you give me any clues as to wot my problem is i fitted a new battery and a starter motor it wont jump start but you can bump start it plese help .

its maybe the imbaliser i had the same problem with mine b4 i sold it how to test this is easy bring a wire off the battery and down to the starter if it turns over you will have to get the ecu reprogramed hope this helps!

look under the bonnet on the left side of the car check in the fusebox the starter motor is fused and has a relay which are both in this fusebox there should be a diagram on the back of your fusebox cover to help identify the fuse and relay you need to check this may not be your fault but if as previously mentioned you have checked the earth it is a good place to start

check engine to chassis earth lead to make sure it's a good connection.you can check it by using one jump lead and connect it to battery negative and other end to metalwork on engine.
