mountfield rv40 what type of oil do i need?

i turned my mountfield on its side to refit the drive belt

1.i read(after) that turning it on its side would damage the engine?
2.i also lost most of the oil what type of oil does it need
MIKEY, April 2009
you need mountfield universal oil next time you tip it make sure that the exhaust is pointing up ward and the carb is pointing to the ground

No damage will be done, but you may need to clean the plug and air filter to restart it, and the engine will smoke for a while. Fill the sump up with a straight grade SAE30 oil if you have some, but ordinary car oil of 10/30 or 15/40 multigrade will be ok.
