HOW THE HECK DO I GET TO THE IDLER TIRE/BELT?

I have a Hitachi VT-FX613A (4-head) VCR. I need to replace the idler tire but can't figure out how the heck to get to it. I'm familiar with the older VCR's that had a metal bottom lid that was easily removed with a couple screws. This VCR has know metel bottom all plastic, a couple screws but lots of compartments w/ plastic snaps and so on.

Now, I'm wondering if I should be going that route or not. Because underneath the idler (where I want to get to) is the circuit board. Should I remove the tape carrage and so on or what.

Somebody please help before I chuck this thing out the window.
