The timer on my Kenmore electric dryer model 110.96283810 has started running backwards. If I loosen the control panel and giggle it, it might run correctly for one load. Then it starts running backwards on the next load. This happens on all settings.

I had this problem. It cost about an hour to fix it. When I took the timer out and removed the cover, I noticed burn marks on the inside of the cover. I suspect that a visitor who used the dryer turned the dial the wrong way & it shorted. Two of the contacts on the mechanism on the inside of the timer had carbon burns. I lighted sanded them clean & reinstalled the timer. It works now.

Nancy...My 6-year-old Kenmore dryer does the exact thing. For a good while, I thought I was "losing it," as it's ability to suddenly start running backwards, after a couple of years of normal use, seemed impossible, at least for my not-so scientific mind to understand. My solution: I've just used it backwards. Did you ever succeed in getting it fixed? And, if so, how?
