i recently had broadband install to my windows ex pc only the internet works but i cannot log in to my msn account read my emails or do anything to do with msn the pc says its to do with a firewall blocking it so how do i change my firewall to allow msn to come through it.

What firewall are you using? If it's windows firewall, goto your control panel and select the windows security icon. From there you can switch off your firewall or configure it to allow internet access.
