the drum wont go round it fills and emptys ok buts thats all is this going to be a costly repair

Just incase anyone ever gets this problem, though in 2022, there will not be many of these around now. Since these machines were mostly imported around 2002 the problem most likely is worn out motor brushes. Cheap to repair yourself. The motor brushes were used on many Gorenje Sloviena made machines so you just track them down to match with your brushes.
