Is my Hp laptop w/mirosoft windows xp crashed?!?

I have an Hp mini laptop that has Microsoft Windows XP and i turned the laptop on today and it went to a page that displayed safe mode, safe mode with Networking, Safe mode with command prompt, Last known Good configuration and start windows normally, and usually i click start windows normally and it works jsut fine but today it starts to act like its starting up but then goes back to the original display where it gives me options on how to start the computer.. I dont know what im doing wrong or what to do please help!

Did you try starting it in safe mode? Or with last known good configuration? Something is wrong in Windows that is keeping it from starting normally. Try using last known good configuration first. This will try to start the computer using the settings it used the last time it started successfully. If this doesn't work then try starting it in safe mode. If this doesn't work you may have to do a reinstall. When you start the computer it should say something like "press F10 to enter recovery mode". It should give you 2 options. One is to wipe the hard drive and do a clean install. The second option also puts the computer back to how it was when you bought it. However, it take the things already on the hard drive and puts them in a folder. This way you don't lose everything. You will still need to reinstall your programs. That can be a pain but better than losing your data!
