How can I chg the belt on my old Eureka vacuum..1966 model?

Hello folks, I have the triangular pan removed from over the melted belt. 7802044 model old Eureka that was my mother's is now in my possession. Now How do I get the brush beater bar to release so I can put a new belt around it and twist and attach?

thank you.

I couldn't find info on this model. Thant number is too long. Usually the model number is 3 or 4 digits.

If it is the upright-style with the cloth bag, then the brush roller will simply pull out of the base with a tug, or you may have to undo a fastner on both ends of the brush roller. They are a stiff wire, simply push down and release away from the inside edge of the base. Yours may be rusted, as most of them usually are. A shot of WD-40 loosens them up. If you need any more help, my email is arctic@worldlynx.net.
