I have a maytag neptune washing machine model MAH 6500 AWM that my wife washed a large quilt in. The door keep springing open and giving a fault code, flood I think. Anyway it was the door that keep coming open. I think that the door is sprung now because it is hard to close and now pops open and gives a fault code. So I believe that the door is sprune and I need to know how to fix it.

it sounds as though the door interlock mechanism has been damaged by the drum .examine it carefully and see if any chip has been broken off the interlock, it could be even bent from the banging. does the door feel the same to close as prior to that wash if not you may have a bent hinge, study it carefully and you will prob discover what has got damaged
