Re: Depollution System Faulty?

I bought the peugeot 407 1600 SE HDI approximately 18 months ago. Last week the engine management light came on and the Depollution System Faulty flashed up, it became a little sluggish but then cut out completely and struggled to restart. I have had the fuel filter looked at and cleaned and it is still doing it. The garage have told me it is the ECU and has got to be replaced any ideas?

Did the garage replenish your DPF fluid and reset the counter? Doesn't sound like it.

Did the garage mention the particulate filter in the exhaust?I am not going to say the person who diagnosed your fault is wrong and they must have good reason to say your ecu is at fault but if possible give the veh. a good run in high gears with high revs to get the exhaust really hot,if this has been tried then ignore the posting, good luck
