Running Problems with 2003 Vauxhall Zafira 2ltr dti?

Hi,
Can anyone please help. I have a Vauxhall Zafira Elegance, 2.0 DTI, had problems a few years ago with loss of power, and engine management light coming on, it turned out to be a Faulty Vacuum Pipe, then it started again recently, to the point that the car wouldn't start up. Fault turned out to be EGR Valve, which was replaced. Now there is no faults on the computer, yet it still lacks power when climbing hills or when trying to pull away from a junction. There is no Engine Management Light coming on, and have put a cleaner in the fuel to try and clear it. Does anyone have any easy & cheap solutions, as I can't afford to start changing other expensive parts which may not fix the problem.

Hi There,
I have finally managed to get my car fixed. I had to change garage, as the last one was useless!!.

Went to a local garage yesterday, fault was a split hose, which was causing the Vacuum Pipe to not work. Garage ordered part from Vauxhall, and is now working like a dream, with very little cost.

My advice to anyone with this type of problem, is always get pipes checked first, before spending money on Expensive parts that may not fix the problem, as the computer won't show up these issues.

Thanks to everyone who has given advice on this.

your fault is indicitive of a mass air flow sensor, please change this! it is the cylindrical sensor in the air intake pipe between the air filter and pipe leading to the inlet manifold, very common issue, please dont use aftermarket parts as they are crap, branded names ie bosch siemens are good, your engine code is Y20DTH

Thanks a lot, just had oil change, could the fuel filters need cleaned/replaced?

I will speak to my garage on Thursday to check these things. Luckily my garage doesn't charge for checking!!

make sure your filters are clean and up to date, check intercooler hoses/pipes for splits etc, take off turbo hose and feel for play in impeller
