How can I re-attach my timer knob on a Beko oven?

My daughter pulled the timer knob out of the cooker although it was still attached but difficult to work; it then fell off completely. The knob was attached to the cooker by a small metal pole that inserted into the back of the knob. I tried to get the metal part back out so I could simply place the knob back on it, however after using a screwdriver to try and coax it out of inside the oven it got pushed in further and as a result, without use of the timer I now cannot use my oven. I was wondering is there anyway I could simply push this part back through to re-attach the plastic knob? If I pulled the oven out where could I find the place I need to take apart to get to this metal pole?
