Sound keeps dropping out?

I have an Alba tv 32 inch and it is working fine except for the sound. When I turn the TV on the sound works fine for about an hour but then it drops out and I lose sound all together. The sound will come back on if I turn the TV on and off continually, but the sound will drop out again. I really don't want to buy a new TV but do not want costly repairs. Any ideas???? Thanks all G

Try this---Performing a Power Cycle

Step 1
Locate the power supply for the TV and unplug it from the electrical outlet.

Step 2
Press and hold the "Power" button on the TV for 60 seconds.

Step 3
Plug the power supply of the TV back into the wall and press the "Power" button to restart the TV.

Perform a Factory Reset

Step 1
Turn the television on.

Step 2
Press and hold the reset button on the remote control. If your remote control doesn't have a reset button, press and hold the up arrow.

Step 3
Press the "Power" button on the front panel of the television while holding the reset or up arrow button on the remote.

Step 4
Release the reset or up arrow button on the remote and follow the setup instructions on the screen. If that fails recheck your cable connections.
