Toaster blowing Electrics?

Hi,

I have a four slice toaster. If I make two slices all is ok. When I go to four it shuts off the main electric switch. This is a brand new toaster, bought Saturday. The old toaster started to do the same thing on Saturday so I threw it away, now seems like that might have been ok and I have a bigger problem. Does anybody have any idea why it would only happen on the 4 slice setting?

thanks

bring it back to the shop, and get them to try it out, and get a different model of toaster from them..

Try it upstairs if you have an upper floor - try it in another house - either the toaster is faulty or the tripping circuit breaker is defective.

The 4 slice setting will take more current
The 4 slice setting will use two heating elements rather than one - the second element may be faulty.

Make more tests - good luck..., April 2015
I have tried it in another two sockets with the same result.
I have plugged other things in the toaster socket without a problem.

Cheers
John

try it in a different socket, and see if it trips the power,
