Can a lid sw be jumpered?

This is in addition to my Maytag A412 washer question...
I just did a continuity test on the lid sw of my Maytag washer andt it was defective (open). Can I put a jumper on the sw
to test it out? I just want to know if this is the only defective part.

Thanks,
Vince

Of course you can. Just don't come whining to us when your arm (or one from someone you care for) has been ripped off. Safety switch. The clue to why its there is in the name.
Take care

If the switch has two wires and your meter shows the switch to be open circuit you should operate the switch to be certain it's defective.

If you link the two terminals together with a jumper - or just join the switch wires together - the effect will be the same as the switch closing.
