How do I remove the broken steam knob from my Delonghi Icona Eco?

I wound it back off and suddenly it won't shut a d leaks water from steamer when making expresso.
Its loose but I don't want to pull it off incase there is something holding on it.

I watched a YouTube video on it but it wasn't in English nor had subtitles.

Just to add, I'm afraid I didn't find a fix for the problem yet though, despite accessing the inside of the machine. I also just post a question asking how this can be fixed.

From what I understand you can just pull it off. I have the same problem with my steam knob continually turned and not closing/turnjng off anymore. I unscrewed the 5 screws underneath so I could remove the silver part on top, and just pulled the steam knob off firmly and carefully. I think that's the only way to take it off.
