Electrolux vacuum EPIC 6000 series SR starts and stops.?

This is an electrolux cannister model EPIC series 6000 SR. After replacing a full bag of dust with a new Electrolux bag, my vacuum refused to restart and stay on. The motor runs fine without the hose attached, but winds off quickly when suction or resistance is applied to the orifice. Even my hand can stop the suction and turn off the unit. I already cleaned the additional filter, and reamed out the hose for obstructions to no avail. I believe the "sensor" that winds down operation when the bag gets full is somehow faulty. Is there an adjustment?

I had a similar problem that was resolved by replacing the
afterfilter. It's located under the attachment holder on the top
of machine. Depress the latch at the back of the holder and
remove the holder. The filter is underneath.
