How do I create a timer recording for 1/2 half of a Progam on my DMR-E85H?

I want to record a 4 hour football game but I have a conflict since I recorded a 1/2 program about 2 hours into the football game
interval. How do I set the timer recording before and after the
1/2 hour program? I am using a Panasonic DVD Video Recorder
Model no. DMR-E85H.

Cobweb,
Thank you very much. I am unfamiliar with chapters. I will research and study to try your suggestion.

Otherwise, if you simply want to break up future Timed Recordings without using chapters, you can set a timer for partial recordings by selecting Prog/Check and enter whatever on/off times you like in the Manual Timer Screen. (ie. just don't use video plus.)

Not sure I fully understand your question Frank. Are you trying to copy a single recording of the football from Hard Drive to Disc (or vise-versa) but want to edit out an unwanted part of that recording?

If so, goto Direct Navigator --> highlight the recording --> select Sub Menu --> Chapter View... from here you can split up the single recording into 3 pieces, 1st part of football, the 'other program' that you want taken out, 2nd part of football. Just create chapters (splits) as required. Then copy back just the first and last chapters containing only the football.

Hope I understood your question correctly.
