Whirlpool washer leaks oil and water?

My 10 yr old whirlpool washer (7233) leaks oil or grease and has a stain under it similar to a car leaking oil. There is also a small amount of water that leaks around the same spot. What's going on?

Dear Sir as i am a Domestic Appliance Engineer
this is a common fault. unfortunatly the bearing seal on the pully drive shaft has gone which is allowing water from the tank to run into the bearing this washes out the grease from the bearings which results in the brown stain if you look behind the machine at the pully you will see a small hole near the shaft this is where the water and oil is comming from it is quite a difficult job and will require an engineer to replace seal and bearings (sorry)
