How can I fix the water leaking from my humidifier?

I have a Haier dehumidifier, Model DH656E purchased one day ago. Initially the unit was working fine when I tested it. Now after moving it to the basement, I find the water is not going into the bucket but into the floor. Yes the drain plug is tight. I have tried to move it to different areas of the basement thinking it was off balance. It's working great as far as evidenced by the river of water running from the unit. It sounds like the water is being held up in the top of the unit. Could something be clogging the system? I have tried to feel around but cannot find anything obvious.

From your description, it sounds to me like ice is forming on the cooling fins.
Try shutting down the machine, let everything warm (few hours) and then re-start. Make sure to set humidity to about 65 or so, which will allow the unit to cycle on and off.
Once that's reached, then slowly lower the humidity setting if you want.
Good luck, I'm on my 3rd machine in 3 months!!

Check the drain tube going to the catch pan, might be clogged with dirt or kinked.
