Dyson DC01 Absolute - no suction?

My Dyson DC01 Absolute has no suction from the pipe. I have fitted a new fan belt, and checked all the channels are clear which they are. Only a few weeks ago we put in new filters and now I am stuck. The motor seems fine. To be honest this model has not had the best suction right from when we bought it. Any Ideas?

i had a dc01 absolute it was the worse dyson i have ever had it was about the same suction as a toy hoover. i never found out why this purple model was so bad in suction. like you say from day one on yours it was bad suction so was mine. It got so bad it couldnt pic up crisps it was just left in a corner in my bedroom. I got it out to fix it the switch went on it so i chucked it in my boot and took it to the tip. I then got a down grade the yellow model with no hepa filter and it was the best dyson i have ever had. It may be a batch of duff models and ares might have been from that

You will find that round the top of the cylinder, there is suction either side. This is because the rubber seals are not making good contact with the cylinder as it fits over two ports on the back side where it lives
