how can i fix my clutch on a vauxhall vectra 2litre16v petrol?

how to get at the the clutch and how big of job is it

It's not the taking out of the clutch which takes the time, it's getting to it! You will need to disconnect the transmission from the engine, and this is the part which takes the time as it's not easy to get to. If you haven't got access to a lift hoist or a pit then it's one hell of a job. Even for a professional mechanic with all the kit it will take several hours (5 to 6). You will also need a clutch-plate alignment tool when fitting the new clutch.

a new clutch should take a professional expert 5 minutes absolute max to take out old and put in new. for you, however, probably a couple of hours. its between the engine and gearbox. all you have to do is remove the old one and remember how you did it, then do it backwards to the new one.
