clutch dies a lot?? how are you driving it?! If the clutch fails you can get one fitted for around £100 from a clutch centre is you shop around, should last 50k miles+ no probs
Common problems, I would say, are gearbox wear at 100k miles -ish (can be a whining noise especially in 1st-3rd gear). CV joints start to clatter around that time too, and you have to buy whole shafts (£75 each).
