how can i fix a fuji s5000 digital camera?

Batteries are in the camera but it won't switch on, nothing appears to be working, haven't got the manual, Anybody have any ideas?? thanks in advance for any help given.

Open the little door covering the memory card.
You should see a little black plastic pin, which is springloaded.
push it in and hold it there whilst switching the camera on.
If the the pin is broken off, then push a piece of toothpick into that switch with a bit of superglue.

It could be as simple as a bad fuse between the batteries and DC block or it could be the DC block. This is assuming you got good batteries in and their intalled correctly.
