my fridge seems to not be working correctly?

My integrated larder fridge - Diplomat APM 6724 has stopped working correctly. The light bulb bulb blew and since that it doesn't seem to get cold.
I've removed it checked the fuse which was ok,and have fitted a new bulb which is know working, but even after turning the setting to 7 it doesn't seem to be getting cold.
Could this be the thermastat and if so is it easy to replace or is it time for the dump.
This appliance is only 4.5 years old

Not in all cases i had similar fault and was about to throw the thing away when my friend who had a problem with his gave me the name of a company who service the london area www.agsrefrigeration.co.uk who fixed his they came out and replaced a faulty sensor all ok since.

Mine is the same, just replacing it. Fridge only gets cold at the top and thermometer is reading 10 degrees. It's 4 years old. Time for a new one.

What temperature is it at? I took out the thermostat last night and found an adjustment and set it down quite a way. Now the fridge is cooling nicely at 5 deg c, which i believe is where it should be. :)

Basically I think the 1-7 adjustment has died so there is no way to compensate for room temp variation, so im going to have to keep an eye on it.

A new thermostat would fix properly but I have no idea of where to get one! If your fridge makes ice at the back at the top within a few mins of the motor being on I would say there is no gas leak but something wrong with the thermo.(but I guess its easier for an engineer to take the callout and say its beyond repair)

ps If you decide to scrap your fridge, take the door off first (as in the manual) or better still look into freecycle :)

Just an update, I was told to clear out the drain hole at the back of the fridge, I did this and it has help a bit at least its reasonable cold on No 7

yep same here. apm 6724, Only 3-4 years old and my milk has been going off for about a year now! Just got a thermometer and its 11-12 deg c in there!

As ice is forming at the back I am sure the condenser etc is working fine. Also it always cools to that same temperature so something must be working, just the 1-7 adjuster control is broken. Maybe a common issue with them

Im now taking out the thermostat to see if it is the problem...

PS my bulb has never blown

HI. Just called out an engineer to look at the fridge as i didnt' realise I had a 5 year warrenty with it. He said that the thermostat had broke, but that he would not replace it as the gas was leaking so the fridge would need to be thrown out. He said that one of the ways to see if the gas is leaking is if you turn the fridge off so that it loses all the cold and turn it back on it will start cooling from the top of the fridge down to the bottom. After 5 mins the whole back panel should be cold. When they did the test on mine after 5 mins only about 15 cm of the fridge was cold. So sadly it is the case of buying a new one.

HI. My apm 6724 is having the same problem. It is only 4 years old and never gets cold even at number 7. Have you managed to fix yours yet and if so what did you do.

My APM 6724 has the same problem keeps defrosting and is never really cold even on 7. I had a engingeer out who said it was not the thermostat, but the gas was leaking which does not make sense, he was pretty useless just there for the call out fee I think. So I am still trying to solve the problem

I am having the same Problem, I replaced the light bulb but the door doesnt seem to hit the switch to turn the light off, as everytime i go in the fridge the light is red hot, this could be why the light has blown. i have since taken the light out and the fridge gets cold but it still doesnt seem to get cold enough.
