Zafira X reg, the mileage indicator does not illuminate?

Among the usual faults with zafira`s, recently the back light on the mileage display has stopped working also the remopte C/L has stopped almost the same time. Is this related & how to repair it ?

THE REMOTE CONTROL KEY STOPS WORKING BECAUSE A FAULT WITH THE DESIGN MEANS THAT A SOLERED CONNECTION ON THE ELECTRONIC BOARD COMES AWAY THROUGH TIME.ITOOK MINE APART AND FOUND THE CONNECTION,ITS EASY ENOUGH TO FIND.TO REPAIR YOU CAN SOLDER IT,OR I JUST SIMPLY SUPERGLUED IT.

not related needs a new bulb .... cost you about 80 quid at main dealer unless you are prepared to strip down the full front dash for a bulb cost's about 3 quid for a bulb but it's a hard job to get to? key fob mght just need a new battery for remote central locking .
