ariston genus boiler - water not hot?

The water is not staying hot. After a minute or so it goes cold. The radiators are working great. Any ideas?

IT JUST SAYS ARISTON GENUS ON THE INSTRUCTION BOOK - I FOUND A RED SCREW TOP WHICH I THOUGHT COULD BE VALVE BUT WHEN I TURNED THIS NO AIR CAME OUT, JUST SOUNDED LIKE IT WAS CONTROLLING FLOW OF WATER. IM AT A TOTAL LOSS.

Julie, November 2007
is it an ariston micro genus?

Hot water flow is fine - the pressure gauge is on 3. I was advised to release air from a valve -but I can't find a valve! looks like a call to an engineer.

I wouldnt advise anyone to repair thier boiler, all I can advise
is to find out the price of the part and phone around engineers
to ask how much they would charge,
the engineer may think it is something else,
is the hot water flow ok or does it slow down ?

Barry

Could I fix this myself or is it a case of paying extortionate prices for an engineer?

Julie, November 2007
it could be the DHW flow switch,
or the temperature probe.

Hi Barry,

No the boilers not noisy but the burner does go out when the hot water turns cold.

Julie, November 2007
is the boiler noisy when you run the hot water tap,
does the burner go out when the water turns cold,
