snapper push mower will start and run a second or 2 and cut off?
Have a snapper push mower that sometimes will start for a second of 2 and then cut off. Sometimes this happens and sometimes after enough times of trying to start it, it will actually run for a while and then quit.
On the carburetor remove the small bolt that holds the bowl in place. Be ready to plug the hole where the bolt was removed. If this hole is not plugged gasoline will run freely from the hole. On the small bolt that you removed you will find a small holes drilled into the bolt. Take a fine piece of wire and clean out the hole. Do not use a piece any bigger than the hole. There is trash in this hole and it being clogged will keep the gas from flowing.

adjust idle screw on carb, or put choke on full and throttle wide open, then start, if it starts, open choke and leave throttle wide open. if it still doesn't work, beat the hell out of it with a sledgehammer.
