Ford KA 2000, Everytime i add coolant it disappears?? HELP PLEASE?

had a breakdown otherday, looked over engine and seen that there was no coolant in the tank. Refilled and flooded away, no leaks on the floor etc... all together put 5 ltrs of coolant mix into tank.
Ran engine on idol for 10 mins with cap on, fine after engine turned off, problem starts, Coolant drains away, followed pipes to see for drips but none.

Any ideas???

Thanks Guys

You've probably got a leak in the pipe the feeds the engine coolant, this was happening to me but it was a slow leak and I did not notice this can effect the heat and temp of the car also

Hi im asking this for a mate of mine , he has just bought a w plate ford ka 2000 model if im right in thinking , the problem is its not firing on all cylinders , hes changed the spark plugs and i had a look , saw a very cracked HT lead , bought a new set and replaced however the problem remains? im thinking head gasket? but im by far from being a mechanic any ideas would be great cheers

ford ka's have a very common problem where the collant tank cracks for no reason! and without a DAM WARNING!!! mine randomly got a 3 inch crack in it it cost me about 80quid to get replaced and its been fine ever since, also if you want to DIY most ford garages stock this part as it breaks so oftenly!

Must agree with Mihai: if 5 litres of coolant leave no trace whatsoever, get the car in a repair shop asap

well.. might be late but... it sounds like a more serious problem! don't add liquid anymore and call a mechanic to your place (or tow the car to him). If 5 liters dissapeared without a drop below there might be the main engine ring, it happened once to me and the coolant got into the engine.

ill try that,

Thanks

If there are no leaks then you need to just keep filling until it can't take any more.
