How can I fix my vacuum cleaner?

I have a Kenmore canister vac with Hepa filter, model #116-23512300, I just spent $28.00 for a new switch and I replaced it thinking that was the problem, still won't turn vacuum cleaner off. It will turn the roller part off but not the canister. Problem is the switch is not turning the vacuum cleaner off, don't know what else to replace. Need help and know I can fix it once I know why it won't shut off. Thank You for your help and support

From another thread: That problem is most likely a faulty circuit board in the canister. See if it still runs with the hose disconnected. If so, definately the P.C.B. Hose problems usually don't happen early in life with the Kenmores, and you have the standard hose without electronics, even less likely for problems. Get it repaired under the warrenty, the complete assembly is around 80 to 100, and unless you know how to work on the hose, it can't be serviced by the consumer. More questions?
