You should be able to hear the pump running when you operate the washer. if not it may be worth checking the fuses before taking the bumper off as they can blow if the pump is operated with frozen water in it!

hi pete benn.thanks 4 the reply.i located the leak where the pipe enters the tailgate.it had torn in 2.managed 2 repair it but still no water coming out of rear jet. manuel suggests i take bumper off and check valve or pump.i did get a pump.just finding time to investigate further.

For further info i took the door panel off today and found the plastic membrane which directs water to the door drain holes and prevents it entering the car had come unglued all the way around the bottom and it was clear from the mildew and slime that this had been the entry point for water. I stuck it back into position with "i can't belive it's not nails". havn't tested it with a watering can yet but i'm 99% sure it should be okay now

I assumed this was the problem with my rover 25 which I started looking into today. I assumed the rear washer pipe was split as the washer motor still works but no water comes out. To get to the pipe you have to undo 3X 10mm bolts in the rear of the bottom cushion of the back seat. the whole cushion the pivots out allowing you to lift the carpet to expose the washer pipe. better access can be gained by removing the drivers seat as well (4X allen bolts and an instantaneous wire connector for the pre tensioning). I found my pipe had actually broken in the tail gate and was not the source of the water. try pouring water over the door to check the door seals with the carpet lifted. some one elses forum sugessted it could just be blocked drain holes in the door itself (try clearing them with a small screwdriver or wire. please let me know if you find the problem as i am still trying to fix my leak!
