My Philips SE435 dual cordles phones continually say "searching"?

My Philips SE435 dual cordless phones continually say "searching" and will not enable me to make outgoing calls or recieve incoming calls. The answer machine and range icons are also flashing on both handsets. I have had them for almost a year and this problem only arose yesterday. Looked in the User Manual to find nothing mentioning this problem. Can you help?

Thanks for this. I've just done the same thing to set my IDECT base unit. Worked first time. Not been able to find anything about resetting a base station anywhere.

Has your cordless phonejust started randomly displaying "Searching" on the display, even when the handset is sat in the cradle?

When this happens try a "reset" to the handset and the base station by
taking the batteries out of the handset and turning off the power to the
base. Leave them in the power-off position for at least 30 seconds before
powering them again. If this does not fix your problem than your system is
aging and most like the RF shielding cans on the handset (or base) is
corroding (or dry solder joints). If this fixes the problem, then simply
repeat this procedure whenever the problem manifest.

If this does not fix your problem try a” hard reset”
1. Turn off the mains power.
2. Press the 'page' button and power on whilst pressing the
'page' button. Keep holding the button after power on until base starts bleeping
3. Release the 'page button when the base unit stops bleeping.
4. Press the page button five times in quick succession.
5. That's it ! Full factory reset completed.
