was running quite happily then just decided to slow down and stop and wont start again, we have checked the spark plug, (its firing ok) petrol is getting to the places it should be getting to. When we took the spark plug out there was a small amount of oil around the outide of it, ( none on the tip), does anyone know what might be causing it not to start???

hiya thanks for your reply.we have put a new spark plug and there is compression coming from the engine when plug is out but still no luck with starting it

Don't worry about oil around the plug threads. Try 1) replacing the spark plug with a new or good used one 2) Make sure the engine has compression - there should be resistance when you turn the engine over with the plug in. Post back if no joy!
