Is there a fuel cut off switch on a peugeot 406?

After an accident the Peugeot 406 wont start. Someone told me it was due to the fuel cut off switch. Is this corrrecrt? Will the engine automatically cut off on impact?

yes, on the near side suspension strut it will be a black round push button directly oppesite the inner wing

Yes it will - there's a red or black button under the bonnet that you press to reset it, usually on the inner nearside wing area.
