my dryer makes a bad scraping noise. the felt for the front bearing has been changed twice and it works for a couple of weeks then starts to scrape again. can you tell me if the problem is more than just changing the felt

If changing the felt bearing doesn't make a long term cure, then obviously the dryer is showing its age. The rear bearing could be worn which is allowing the drum to run out of true. In my experience its not worth having the job done, probably best to buy a new one.
