Cleaning mirolin sinks?

We have a white mirolin sink that is stained. How do you clean it?
Cathy Miller, December 2007
I want to thank everyone for their ideas. My white mirolin sink is 20 plus years and I I still don’t know if there is a paint for it but until there is I will use the methods offered by all you fine folk, and fellow Mirolin sufferers.

I have a red, now faded, l Mirolin sink and old one too , at least 16years. Have tried many cleaning aids...what is the best ?

Citric acid can remove iron stains. Warm the sink surfaces using hot water followed by some citric acid spread with a scrub brush, let set for 5 minutes, this rinse. Unfortunately, this is a short term remedy.

have an old mirolin sink as well........tried scrubbing etc with limited success...but tried "scrub free" the other day and it is as the name says scrub free. works awesome. has bleach in it. just hoping it is not hard on my pipes over time.

Drop a dishwasher Puck into the sink, then spray
with hot water to about 1" deep.

Ok, this is an old thread, but mine is an OLD Mirolin sink. It's probably close to 20 years old, so be careful, they might not even be using the same formula for the newer synthetic sink.

I tried everthing, including striaight bleach, scrubbing and mild abrasives with only limited success. By chance I used Scrubbing Bubbles bathroom cleanser and it did wonders. I don't really understand what chemical combination did the job so easily, because one of the main ingredients is chlorine bleach which didn't work well even when using it straight.

I used 2 Mr. Clean magic erasers and it took all the stains out

My sink is 13 years old. It was white, now stained, however I used ZUD for many years and it cleaned up beautifully. Can't find anything to clean it now. Bleach is out of the question since my water has iron in it.

I think my mirolin sink is a piece of !@#$%. I use straight bleach and a Mr. Clean extra strength scrub pad.

I use Vim cleansing cream. Takes the black pot marks off in a jiffy. As far as the yellowing, I use about an ounze of bleach in each sinkful, helps clean your dishes and keeps your dishcloths nice and bright! The only question I have is can the sink be restored to its original finish? I don't want new sinks but would like them white again. Is there anything you can paint on,etc?

My white mirolin sink takes constant upkeep. Soaking in bleach water or using Clorox Clean-up spray and letting it sit for 10 - 20 minutes cleans discoloration. But for pot marks etc. scrubbing with a cleanser like Comet using a sponge with scratcher seems to work best. I'm still looking for something better because this is a bit labor intensive. P.S. I agree with both the prior answers.

use comet, a scouring pad and scrub like hell for about 30 minutes
