How can I fix my Glen "Rio" Oil Filled Radiator, Model 5123 or 5133?

My radiator is fitted with a non-resettable thermal safety cut-out, and I think this is the cause of the problem. How can I fix this without getting a service engineer?
Eric Edwards, December 2007
You can buy thermal fuses from Maplin for round about £1. You should find the appropriate tremperature stamped on the original failed fuse. If you replace it, it should be crimped on or attached by screw connectors, NOT soldered on.
