breaking a needle and timing?

if one was to break a needle from a denim seam could it possibly throw off the timing of the machine?

Hello Troi,
Yes, without a doubt, it does not take much for the timing to be knocked out, you will soon know because if you put a new needle in and the thread is not picking up the it will need retiming either by the shop or you can do it yourself, if you want to do it yourself e-mail me and I will send the details by attachment, I get so many retiming requests I have to do it that way otherwise I will be on this computer forever, I will need the make, model and very important which way the bobbin goes in either flat on the top, in front or in the side.
