fiat ducato y plate gearbox problems?

i am finding it really hard to select gears it has got prgressively worse and now it will only drive in third gear what do you think the problem is?

More than likely to be the gear selection cables in the dash, behind the gear lever itself. The linkages can self dismantle so its worth having a look in this area first.
