my sons bike keeps slowing down and totally cuts out and wont restart

Could be a blocked breather pipe on the fuel tank. You can check this easily. When it cuts out, remove the fuel cap - if you hear a pop as the air rushes in and it starts OK, you know that this is the problem. Good luck.

could be many things ,

a faulty ht lead faulty ones can play up when hot ,
faulty spark plug

could be incorrect fuel mixture ,

could be the soloniod , though im not sure you have one on as i dont know the model of the bike

Could be a fuel shortage. Disconnect the fuel line at the carb and make sure the fuel is flowing freely.
Or could be electrical - if it is not charging the battery, it will run until the battery is flat. Rev the bike with the lights on full. The lights should brighten as the revs increase.
