i have only the red key for my citreon relay van when i turn on the ignition a key symbol appears on the dash and the van wont start but it has been starting for last 6 months the key symbol would go off right away but now it will not please can you help

I think the van has lost the code for its key - maybe due to the battery being disconnected for a while? I'd have a natter with a Citroen dealer about this one.
