Miele G590 dishwasher heater element stays on?
I have a Miele G590 where the heating element does not switch off. Everything else seems to be working ok. The only way I can turn it off is to unplug the unit. There is a "normally on" relay supplying power to the heating element. There are 2 red wires which is suppose to feed the relay which turns off the power to the heating element. I am not detecting any power here at all through all wash cycles. I've traced these 2 red wires to a little circuit board which is used as a junction point where all wiring attaches to. From there, one of the red wires junctions to many points which leads me to think that it is a ground lead. The other splits into two pink wires going up into the door panel. I will be checking there next. Also, there are black and beige wires coming to the relay and onwards to the heating element. These wires are powered up even when the unit is in the off position. Now to my question. Is there suppose to be constant power to the relay to keep the heating element turned off ? Seems wierd to me. I would have thought that the relay would be normally open. Or is the Black and beige wires going through the relay and then to the heating element not shutting down when it is suppose to. Thanks for any help you can give.
